FAQs

What are your service times?
Every Sunday we have an hour of Bible Fellowship at 9:00am followed by a worship service at 10:00am.  All of our services have a fully staffed nursery for your convenience.

How do I get to the church campus?
River Valley Christian Church’s campus is located at 12650 W US 42 between Prospect and Goshen in Oldham County Kentucky. Get Directions with Google Maps!

What should I wear?
At River Valley Christian Church we don’t focus on what kind of clothes people wear, so we want you to wear what makes you comfortable. We have a variety of people who regularly attend and you will find everything from slacks to shorts at our Sunday morning worship services.

What can I expect when I attend River Valley?

Expect to be greeted with a smile.

Our trained greeters will welcome you at the front door and give you a bulletin for that morning’s service. The bulletin will include the regular announcements as well as an outline for the sermon.

Expect to sing songs of praise to God.

The Bible teaches that singing songs is effective for both praising God and educating ourselves as believers. We sing songs from many different eras, both past and present, but present it all in a contemporary way. You can choose to sing or simply experience the song service, but either way if you have an open heart you will experience God’s presence.

Expect a time of Communion.

Communion is a time for all immersed believers to reflect on and remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us by dying on the cross for our sins. We drink a small cup of juice that represents his blood that was shed and small cracker that represents his body that was broken.

Expect a time to give an offering.

When the offering plates are passed this is a time intended for the members of the church to give a portion of what God has blessed them with back to His church. We don’t want guests feel obligated to contribute, but if you so desire you may participate in this part of the service.

Expect to hear a Biblically based & relevant sermon.

Each week our Senior Minister prepares and delivers a sermon based on scripture. These sermons are designed to be relevant to how we live and operate in today’s society.

Expect to be offered a time of invitation.

At the end of the sermon a time of invitation is always offered. This time allows anyone the opportunity to 1) become a Christian by repenting, confessing, and being baptized, 2) recommit their Christian life to God and His purposes, 3) or place their membership with our body of believers at River Valley Christian Church.

How do I become a member?
To become a member of River Valley Christian Church the only requirement is that you be an immersed believer who has publicly repented and confessed that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior. We highly encourage every person that becomes a member of the church to attend our RVCC 101 class when it is offered.

At the end of every service at River Valley Christian Church we offer a time of invitation, and if you would like to become a member by professing your faith in Christ and being baptized this is the perfect time to do it. This time is also designed for believers who are already immersed to come forward and place their membership with the church.
