The vision of River Valley Christian Church is to reach the hearts and souls of families in Oldham County and the world through the truth of Jesus Christ.

We are devoted to Helping Families Find and Follow Jesus Christ.

Core Values

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
— Acts 1:8

When Jesus sent His disciples out on mission, He didn’t send them out to build up their own kingdoms. Instead, they had been tasked with going out to build His Kingdom. As witnesses of the resurrected Lord, they would share the Gospel message wherever they went. Once they committed themselves to the task, there was no telling where they might end up!

As the church today, we share the same mission. We’ve been tasked with the responsibility of being His witnesses. No matter where we are, no matter where we go, our lives should point people to Jesus Christ. Together, we want to be a church that always looks to His Kingdom rather than our own.

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
— Acts 2:42

The book of Acts shows us how the early church valued Scripture. These first believers devoted themselves to learning from the apostles’ teaching. The sermons recorded in Acts are saturated with Scripture. The early church saw the importance of building everything they did on God’s eternal Truth.

In a culture that has largely wandered away from the concept of truth, today’s church has an important role to play. We have to proclaim the Truth of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. To do that, we have to faithfully proclaim His Word. In everything we do, in everything we say, we want to stand on His Truth.

All the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.
— Acts 2:44

The first church wasn’t a building; it was a family! The early believers understood that God had brought them together for a purpose. They enjoyed fellowship with one another each and every day. As the family of God, they made sure to spend quality time with one another!

River Valley Christian Church isn’t an organization. We’re not a building or a business. We are a family. We share our lives with one another. In good times and bad, we stand beside our brothers and sisters in Christ. That’s what families do… and that’s what we are!

We gather a couple of times throughout the year to discuss some family business. Listen to a recent Family Meeting below.
